Statue Of Unity is the world's tallest statue of leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel located near Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Statue of Unity, the 182-meter high statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on the sadhu island, about 3 kilometers from the Sardar Sarovar dam in Kevadia, in Narmada district of his hometown, Gujarat. Also, it is officially behind the 153-meter high statue of Springfield Buddha of China.

Its magnitude can be estimated from the fact that its face height is equal to the 7-story building. Its hands are 70 feet long, while the lower part of the foot is 85 feet.

Facts On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel:

Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was born on 31 October 1875. Sardar Patel was a freedom fighter and become  India's first Home Minister. He had an important contribution in the fight for independence, which is why he is also called Iron Man of India.
 Contribution To Independence India: Sardar Patel was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and participated in the freedom movement. Sardar Patel's first contribution in this fight was given in Khera Sangh when the Kheda region was in drought and farmers of that demanded exemption from tax from the British government. When the British government did not accept this demand, Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi and others led the farmers and imposed them for not paying taxes. In the end, the government had to bow down and the farmers were given relief in tax.

Entry: Statue of Unity will remain closed on every Monday. Apart, from that the entry open at 8:00 am and closed at 6:00 pm 
Entry Fees: Entry is free for 3 years of children while it is Rs 350 per head for everyone else.
 It includes entry to the observation desk, the valley of flowers, the Sardar Patel Memorial, the museum and audiovisual gallery, the statue of unity site and the Sardar Sarovar Dam Site View.
